OUR BRAND EVOLUTION.
VEAPS was founded by company President Brad VanPelt in 2009. He took inspiration from a personal experience to develop the original VEAPS logo which consisted of elements including a view of Mt. Elbert (the highest peak in Colorado at over 14,000 feet) looking from the north and a stretched looking glass.
In 1999, VanPelt had been challenged to hike Mt. Elbert by a friend for his 40th birthday. Brad did not think much about the physical conditioning that would be required by what he considered to be “merely” a 4.5-mile walk. About a month before the hike his friend asked him what he was doing to get in shape for the hike. Brad laughed and said he didn’t expect there to be any problem walking up a hill. Well, a month later, during the hike, Brad found that his expectations were wrong.
This hike proved to be much more. Brad could only make it to within ¼ mile of the summit. His legs could go no further and despite all of his effort he failed to reach the summit.
Brad was not going to let the mountain beat him and was determined to succeed in accomplishing this goal. The next July, armed with the experience of the previous attempt, Brad was successful in achieving his goal.
The looking glass serves as a bridge between VEAPS and its customers in working together to succeed. Hiking Mt. Elbert was a goal that VanPelt was able to achieve with perseverance. VEAPS team members — with perseverance, knowledge and years of industry experience – strive to help customers achieve their goals.
