BACKGROUND

The knuckle sub assembly line had been causing significant downtime and delays to the body assembly line.

OBJECTIVE

To study the line and evaluate all contributing factors to downtime and reduced performance for both front and rear knuckle sub assembly.

CHALLENGES

Several factors could contribute to the lines downtime and poor performance. They include associate level of training, materials, machines and process methods used.

EXECUTION

VEAPS studied the line for a period of one week and collected data for both 1st and 2nd shifts. Observations were also documented in addition to downtime data collection.

RESULTS

VEAPS presented findings to a management team at the plant with recommendations to improve the line performance.
